It touches my heart more profoundly than any book or educational material that attempts to hide from childrens attention by resorting to lies and deceptions. Many people are swayed by the media and can only provide the correct answers without even forming their own opinions. Many people give up and live without thinking until their graves. I believe this is a work that will awaken those individuals. I admire the authors remarkable skill in concluding the story without significant setbacks or detours while simultaneously accurately responding to the Japanese political and social movements of the time. Throughout the narrative I often wished I had stopped the story in the childrens section allowing Keach to remain an unwavering hero in my eyes. However I was compelled to witness the storys conclusion which was unfortunately disappointing. The gruesome ending was an inevitable consequence and I believe that if it had taken a different turn it would have betrayed the trust of the readers. Nevertheless I was curious to explore the extent of Kiichis anger if he were to witness the current state of the world characterized by delusion and hatred descending even further below the realistic profit and loss account that Kiichi detested.
