Its loud messy and absolutely hilarious but beneath the chaos it delivers a romance that feels refreshingly honest. Though Im not exactly the target demographic a woman in her 20s I thoroughly enjoyed this manga. Then again I do have a soft spot for shoujo manga especially whirlwind love stories that actually dont go for the usual tropes. This one was a fun lighthearted read that kept me entertained from start to finish. This isnt your typical clubits hostesses are all men in drag or fullon trans women making Setsuko the only actual female working there. One night in the middle of a rush she accidentally spills hot drinks on herself. Lucky for her one of the businessmen in the bar is Tanabe a handsome young doctor who quickly tends to her burns. Despite his thorough inspection Tanabe somehow leaves the encounter under the mistaken impression that Setsuko is also a crossdresser The next day cupid strikes when Tanabe is introduced as the new doctor at Setsukos workplace. While he recognizes her he still hilariously believes shes a man in disguise Once that misunderstanding is cleared up a series of bizarre events leads to them suddenly getting married despite barely knowing each other. Now these two nearstrangers must figure out how to make their impulsive marriage work. Their dynamic is pure comedic goldSetsuko is energetic naive and a little crazy while Tanabe is the pictureperfect husband: a doctor a fantastic homemaker and undeniably attractive. Their relationship also was way sweeter and more wholesome than I expected and surprisingly forwardthinking for its time. The setup was totally ridiculous as usual with this kind of manga but if you can look past that youll be pleasantly surprised by how naturally it develops and deepens. Comedy Romancesex Art This manga is straightup comedy gold. It knows exactly what it is and doesnt waste time trying to be deep or seriousit just goes all in on the fun and sex. The humor is loud ridiculous and full of awkward situations that spiral out of control in the best way possible. Since this is a sex comedy much of the humor revolves around the couples married lifeespecially their struggles in the bedroom. But the jokes never feel excessive or forced instead they come across as lighthearted playful and genuinely hilarious. At the same time the manga doesnt just rely on bedroom humor. It also delivers plenty of laughoutloud moments involving inlaws jealousy work stress and the daily chaos of married life. 220https://theksblogs.wordpress.com/wpcontent/uploads/2025/02/a7f393987e1ba348fdf26923fd67f231.jpg The simple yet expressive 1990s art style adds to the humor with exaggerated reactions and dynamic paneling that perfectly capture the absurdity of every situation. It doesnt do a lot but does just enough to make it all come together to create a romcom thats equal parts ridiculous and relatable making it the perfect read when you just want to unwind and have a good laugh. Final Thoughts I stumbled upon this manga by chance and I absolutely loved it. I laughed through almost the entire thing and now its one of my most frequently reread series. The adult humor the complimentary art style and the sheer fun of it all make it a standout. If you enjoy adult comedy/romance stories that actually work this one is an absolute gem. It doesnt try to be anything other than a hilarious lighthearted romance and thats exactly what makes it so special. If youre looking for a manga that will put you in a good mood Darling wa Namamono ni Tsuki is well worth your time. 220https://i.pin.com/736x/06/a0/64/06a0642ac50c29424279f8edc08780a6.jpg
