Review: The SSSRank Hunters Lucky Draw
Story: 1/10
I dont even know where to start with this one. From the very first chapter its painfully obvious that this manhwa is trying way too hard to be SSSClass Suicide Hunt er. And by trying I mean straightup copying. It doesnt just take inspirationit lifts entire concepts throws them in a blender and spits out a weaker version of a story that already exists.
The protagonist? A carbon copy of the SSSClass Suicide Hunter MC just with all the personality sucked out. The world? Feels like someone took the original setting changed a few names and called it a day. The power system? Basically the same but somehow even less interesting. Theres no originality herejust a bunch of recycled ideas and none of them executed well.
I honestly dont get why this even exists. If youre going to borrow heavily from a successful series at least try to do something new with it. But no this is just a lazy knockoff that adds nothing of value.
Art: 2/10
If the story wasnt bad enough the art makes it even worse. Its clear they were trying to mimic SSSClass Suicide Hunters style but they didnt quite have the skill to pull it off. Character designs look unfinished the backgrounds are flat and empty and the action scenes feel stiff as hell.
And the shading? Barely there. Lighting? Minimal effort. Some panels literally look like rough drafts that somehow made it to the final version. The whole thing just feels rushed like they were more focused on cranking out chapters quickly rather than actually making it look good.
Then theres the facial expressionsor lack thereof. Characters are supposed to react to things right? Well not here. Everyone either looks blank or just slightly annoyed even in moments that are supposed to be emotional or intense. Combine that with awkward paneling and clunky movement and you get a visual experience thats just as weak as the writing.
Characters: 1/10
You ever see one of those cheap knockoff action figures that kind of look like the real thing but feel totally off? Thats exactly what the characters in this manhwa are like.
The main character is just a strippeddown personalityfree version of SSSClass Suicide Hunters protagonist. He follows the same path deals with similar struggles and somehow manages to be even less interesting. Theres nothing new about himjust a copy of a much better character with all the depth removed.
The side characters arent any better. They feel like placeholdersgeneric forgettable and completely lacking in chemistry. Their relationships dont develop naturally and their interactions feel stiff and forced. Theres no real emotional weight to anything that happens between them. Its like watching a bad drama where you know the characters are supposed to care about each other but you just dont feel it.
Dialogue: 1/10
Bad dialogue can ruin a story and this manhwa is full of it. Conversations feel so stiff and unnatural that its almost painful to read. Either the characters are spitting out generic forgettable lines or theyre dumping exposition like a Wikipedia page.
Theres no wit no charm no actual personality in the way anyone talks. It just feels like fillerwords for the sake of words with no real impact on the story or character development. Honestly I found myself skimming through most of the dialogue because none of it felt worth reading.
Final Verdict: 1/10
I really cant recommend this to anyoneespecially if youre a fan of SSSClass Suicide Hunter. This isnt just a bad manhwa its a soulless loweffort cash grab that does nothing but recycle a better story in the laziest way possible. The writing is uninspired the characters are forgettable the art is weak and the dialogue is just plain bad.
If youre looking for a solid manhwa with a great story interesting characters and good artwork do yourself a favorskip this and just go read SSSClass Suicide Hunter instead. Trust me youre not missing anything.
