No Home is a decent slice of life manga with some drama and comedy. The premise revolves around trauma loss and then mostly motherchild relationships. Though it presents an intriguing atmosphere and an evocative premise with ghosts and melodrama it struggles with pacing ideas and character depth which is the main point of the work. The series start with a guy that can see ghosts and his weirdacting mom. The supernatural elements particularly the ghosts are a reflection of the mc past trauma but they arent fleshed out sadly. The series touch themes like abandonment sorrow and the struggle to move forward from painful memories. Wanans art style isnt good but its somewhat cute. There are some relevant characters like the ginger guy or the genki girl. Aside from the two main characters there is nothing too crazy about the other ones. The ginger decides to leave the house because her mother touched some random thing from him just to clean the dust. Later we understand why the mom is obssesed with the kid her husband is very distant. Instead of seeking for help she includes her child in the situation. This idea in particular isdecent but the writing is mediocre is very situational and we dont get a real solution of the problem. The usual teenager problems of some characters makes them almost impossible to be interesting. I dont want to sound rude but a lot of the characters probelms feel so childish almost like a self insert work. If you dont relate completely to it the problem sounds like something that it was written by that teenager himself. The two main characters are funny and their relationship is nice. Everything moves too fast and most of the time there are gags so the writing around their relationship is difficult to follow. The main one escapes home because he and his mother can see ghosts that arent relevant in the plot only appering in the first chapters she doesnt feel like a real person. Later she dies after he yells her and he is sad. Its an ok backstory the problem is that the whole plot revolves around it. The other one is a blonde douchebag piece of sht but kinda likeable. He is your usual popular guy with basic friends and tons of girls later we discover a little bit more about him. The comedy is decent but repetitive and the slice of life is not bad but there is nothing special about this show. There are better dramas and way better slice of life. Is very difficult to do a mediocre SoL the whole plot revolves around mundane things but this series adds random plotlines and the drama around the characters is very irrealistic and bland. No home has some potential like its supernatural themes exploration of grief and good comedy all set it up to be a deeply moving work. However the manhwa struggles to balance these strengths with solid character development and engaging storytelling. If youre looking for a rich characterdriven ghost story with a focus on emotional growth it offers some rewarding moments but ultimately leaves a bit to be desired in terms of depth and engagement. There are some emotional moments and the characters sometimes feel alive but I think thats and standard.
