My Review of The Water Magician 420https://srv.crunchyroll.com/cdncgi/image/fit=containformat=autoquality=85width=1200height=675/catalog/crunchyroll/04d68e59707afdc28878a5b2224ad5bc.jpg How powerful can you be with water powers? Apparently quite a lot. Story Ryou is reincarnated with the ability to use water magic. His goal was to live in peace and take his new life easy. Unfortunately he has a couple of encounters with unfamiliar faces that lead him out of this peaceful life and give him an adventure that comes with its own challenges. As Ryou continues to learn water magic he also must balance this with his social life with others. 320https://i0.wp.com/www.animefeminist.com/wpcontent/uploads/2025/07/TheWaterMagician2.jpg?resize=6622C370ssl=1 Characters Ryou is a bright optimistic and clever kid. Hes blessed with an Eternal Youth trait that slows down his aging leaving him looking young for his age. Later in the anime he meets Abel the leader of a party full of charisma and friendliness. Ryou also later meets Sara an intelligent elf that takes a bit of interest in Ryous skill and knowledge. 320https://i.yt.com/vi/yMtXw05M9Kw/maxresdefault.jpg The Good This anime was quite relaxing. It felt like this anime wasnt too focused on action and prioritized aesthetics and storylines more. Its nice to watch a show like this after watching a bunch of actionpacked anime because it really does slow things down but not to the point where it feels like anything is taking forever to be completed. The characters were fun for who they were. I think that the way this shows powerscales the ability of water really shows the potential for water skills. Initially I didnt think that the power of water would be the most effective in combat but this show really shows the possibilities on how overpowered water can be. Not every show needs to be this whole emotional masterpiece. Sometimes its nice to just have some relaxing good anime to watch every now and then like The Water Magician. 320https://www.superherohype.com/wpcontent/uploads/sites/4/2025/08/TheWaterMagician2.jpg?w=1024 The Bad This is a small complaint but I think there were a few moments in the anime that did lack some animation. I dont think it was as bad as many other lowly animated shows but it was still noticeable when it was present which felt awkward. Another minor complaint I had is about the finale. I wish that the fight between Ryou and the Inferno Magician lasted longer. There was lots of potential for that fight but I guess the show needed a happy ending. 320https://whereverilook.com/wpcontent/uploads/2025/07/LeonoreTheWaterMagicianSeason1Episode4E28093Crunchyroll124scaled.jpg The Downright Ugly Nothing downright ugly about this anime. 320https://statico.soapcentral.com/editor/2025/09/656b717571529030300.jpg?w=640 Is It Worth The Watch? If youre looking for a good relaxing anime Id say that The Water Magician is worth checking out. It wont be anything thatll surprise you or stand out a lot but its a good show nonetheless.
