Considerations This is a spoilerfree review. 80+ in my rating means really good. Ive added one of the anime soundtracksa special music video to the sound section. If you wish scroll down start it and use it as your background music while you read. Story The story covers Nico a witchintraining whos sent back to society to improve her magical skills and help people. She is accompanied by her familiar Morihito who comes from a lineage of powerful ogres. When a prophecy is discovered that says a calamity will befall Nico Morihito is tasked with protecting her in her daily life. The story is okay. There are its moments for sure but every episode follows a single logic: Nico casts a spell to improve a situation the spell backfires and Morihito or someone else has to deal with the new problem and save the day. This can be something youll enjoy since the spells and outcomes are completely different each time but Ive seen friends complain that it gets repetitive. 420https://media1.tenor.com/m/558Q2UDFbaMAAAAC/nicowakatsuki.gif Example of Nico helping Art The art is very unique and nice which is especially important for something that mixes comedy and magic. Unlike a more realistic show such as Silent Witch Witch Watch is 90 a comedy show so it doesnt need a high beauty factor its art is more about delivering the jokes effectively. 400https://media1.tenor.com/m/ussjoJOSMG8AAAAd/witchwatchwitchwatchanime.gif Character design is well done. Most of the characters in the main core are easy to spot. Of course when we start going into characters that barely get screen time you can see Anime Male Guy A B C but in general its well done. I also wanna take some time to point out how OP1 had incredible art. It had STier animation. Characters There are a small number of characters in this anime the focus is mostly on Nico Morihito and a few other friends. There are some side additions that focus more on fitting a purpose for example a character that will ask Nico to help her with some situation. 420https://media1.tenor.com/m/LCMiziO7ws4AAAAC/witchwatchnico.gif Regarding the main character Nico is a love or hate type. As I said she repeats the same tropes over and over as she causes magical mishaps. So youre either going to enjoy her and find her funny/cute or just straightup dumb and annoying. Soundtrack The soundtrack is average. Theres nothing too crazy nor too bad to be honest. I dont remember that at any point of the animebe it during comedy a fight or dramaI felt out of place because of the soundtrack and thats about it. The OP/ED are okay and I personally liked the second ending. https://www..com/watch?v=evtoG4dLM4 Conclusion If youre like me you skip everything and read only the conclusion because you dont want to get spoiled with other themes. So I will try to be brief on this point: Try it.As I said before I feel like this anime is either a love or hate. Can the comedy tropes be repetitive? Yes. Does it take away the comedy factor? I dont think so. I personally think I will be watching Season 2 whenever that comes out mostly because this anime fits a genre that for me is like Turn off your brain watch relax and laugh.
