The premise is MC reading webtoon like all of otakus and getting frustrated at beta MCs who keep dodging waifu advances and wishing he was in their situation lo and behold he wakes up the next day with the world of Webtoon merged into his own and he is now the supposedly MC What a happy situation except its not all sunshine and roses as the story of Webtoon enacts itself placing heroines in Mortal Danger and our otaku must rescue them all with Time Loop powers that force him back to a random point of time upon his or the heroines death but can he handle all that misery? WARNING: THIS REVIEW IS SPOILER HEAVY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR SERIES : Attempted Assault Attempted Suicides Deaths Extortions and Gore. The series is a Harem with Polymary ending and mainly revolves around the APC club in their high school a safe haven for MC and his otaku friends which develops out to be the rescue the heroines club. Now that we have put the basic premise out of the way lets talk about the strongest point of the series Its characters. Na Lang Kim Starts off feeling like a Generic Otaku MC thats going to be blessed with luck and score chicks leagues above him but the series subverts that. MC despite not having any standout talents or physical strength tries his darn best to help other characters from their untimely demise through sheer will and hard work and his efforts extend to other characters as well not just limited to heroines. A goodnatured person carrying his own trauma while healing others to the best he can. MC develops a lot throughout the story as he meets and interacts with more characters Becoming more social being confident training his body physically to help him in the future and starting to be meticulous. Ofc stuff always doesnt go well when he turns egoistical due to future sight and is put in place but he recovers strongly keeping the like factor. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/tbqtmd5.png Yoo DaHee One of the FMC and the first Heroine revealed and the MC bias a soft spoken nicenatured jack of all trades be it academics or physical activities or popularity or so the MC thought but sikes. Reality couldnt be far off as her nice personality was just a facade she wore in school and life to prevent issues and thus shattered his dream crush into pieces. Beyond the meme she is quite a well written character bit of Mary Sue if you would say even given she is at top of academic and physical stuff a social butterfly and a popular model seems to have it all but hidden by all that glamour is the responsibility of raising her siblings since years dealing with obsessed stalkers and more. Given her status as the first heroine introduced she stays relevant in most of the series storylines and is a key part in two other heroine routes. A bit of tsundere but a surprisingly honest and lovable character. Her backstory while tragic was written well and added depth to who she is and her character development throughout the story remained great. Yoo DaHee Key Moments: The Acting Career Debut Faceoff and the Confession Arc. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/t9pey7n.png Park JungAh Another one of the FMC who is from MCs existing world. Park JungAh Jung for short serves as the childhood friend/unrequited love/existing love interest trope in the series. As an aspiring Webtoon Artist her bond with MC comes from the support and cheer he provides her while others treat the career path as a joke due to her contsant failures as a result she is timid and social outcast by nature and limits her interactions outside MC I am always biased to the Childhood Friends who are all dere so she quickly become my favorite character to root for. Jung however was not settling for just the unrequited love trope as she dedicated herself to not just involving herself with MC and Heroines but playing an active part in helping MC and them to overcome their trials. As a breath of fresh air Jung does not shy away from proclaiming her love towards MC to her rivals giving her an active spot in the turmoil and all heroines recognizing her as a wall they will have to beat or join As the series goes by Jung develops extensively regaining her confidence making lots of friends and pursuing her dream without hesitation. She is also the only character who comes to know Her love story developments were most natural of all FMC as she already was hopelessly in love with MC and he too recognized the same but struggled accepting himself of being worthy of her. Surprisingly however she was dethroned as my favorite character despite my initial bias and extreme development in all the right things just shows how good this series characters are Park JungAh Key Moments: Helping MC behind the scenes continuously Scriptwriting arc for the Movie her Swimsuit Pool Date and her final arc masterplan. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/t2ee1bq.png ChaSirin Another FMC and the second Heroine to be introduced Sirin is a professional esports player trying to unveil a match fixing scandal going on in her club when she meets MC a situation of imminent danger and distrust. Sirin is insanely popular gathering crowds wherever she goes but yet lonely lacking any real friends due to a nonexistent school life living alone overseas and clubmates who cant keep up with her. APC serves as a changing point in her life making her open up more about her inner demons and resolving them. Yoo DaHee and her have a cat and dog dynamic as both are of the same type refusing to back down while her relationship with Jung is more amicable and of mutual respect as love rivals. Sirin ups the ante in danger significantly as we go from a stalker situation to kidnappings Crime Syndicates and Mafia making the first roadblock MC faces despite his time loop powers and he begins to question can he even do it? 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/txagbrz.png Sirin introduces multiple side characters to the series which are all fantastically written. Her parents were lovely characters and their willingness to protect and care for her was a nice change compared to usual fiction stuff. The Mom is full ara ara whereas the father is touching my daughter and you die dynamic making out to great comedy slapstick. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/ty3d6dk.png Next up is Song Yura Sirins Manager/Sole Relative an adult woman introduced a few chapters later. She plays a pivotal role in advancing Sirins arcs making her develop more. Not only that she is often swooping in to MC at his lowest moments giving him energy and advice to push through and serves as a great adult consultant character of the series and shes hot Back to Sirin she also develops extensively throughout the series despite many roadblocks and slumps significantly more than Yoo DaHee but she perseveres. Featuring a glorious smile Sirin is just lovable. Sirins Key Moments: Kidnapping Arc Parents Meet Arc. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/t1zj5vt.png JooRa Mi Another FMC and the Third Heroine introduced Rami cements and extends the fantasyesque situation of the series further with her introduction. A cute junior who reads Tarot Cards to predict the future accurate to a scary degree causing her to be severely restricted by her family as a tool to make money and connections and inbred to keep the bloodline pure and have her powers inherited. Rami arc expands the scale to Global Crime Syndicates and Politicians all who benefited from her and her familys future sight but surprisingly she had one of the easier arcs as a solution as the same reputation and shady clients become their greatest shields. Rami gimmick is Arent I cute which she sure is. Her development is largely related to escaping her familys clutches and beginning to think of a future for herself on her own terms. She falls for the MC quickly and recognizes Sirin and Jung as her rivals while also teaming up with Sirin to take on Jung or Dahee at times. Rami introduces us to a significant side character but she shall be discussed later in the review. Joo RaMi Key Moments: The Rescue arc 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/tkyrohc.png Seo EunYoung Another FMC and a subheroine character mentioned early on as the childhood friend of YooDa Hee. Seo comes from an insanely wealthy family connected to British Royalty and serves as one of the most influential and powerful characters in the series often helping MC in situations otherwise impossible such as mobilizing the M6 and so on. Seo introduction is a bit weird as she does not meet or join the MC in school like the rest of the heroines but rather the MC approaches her amidst Sirins Character arc for assistance and their meeting is shown in flashbacks not just one but two one near her first appearence second close to end of story near the finale giving readers the full picture of what really happened amdist her sudden appearence. Seo dresses and acts classy according to her peerage which leads to some hilarious shenanigans. She and Yoo DaHee love to egg each other on and mess around but deeply care for each other as friends. Honestly an overall really great character she was just pure fun. Her love came quickly but like a tsunami and she had the least dangerous character arcs given her status as SubHeroine in the original world. Seo EunYoung Key Moments The Fiance Arc The Vacation Arc 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/trid4op.png Yoo NaRi Another FMC who is also a SubHeroine in the original work Yoo NaRi is our resident psycho. She is extremely obsessive in both the original webtoon and this world. Younger sister of DaHee she harbors extreme admiration towards her sister due to years of DaHee raising her and their 2 younger siblings all by herself post their parents death which turns into a yandereesque obsession of keeping her sister safe from the Protagonist and now our MC. Beyond that she is a great cook and academically well off despite herself believing she falls short in front of her sister in comparison. NaRi development is very different from the rest of the characters as she goes from vigilance towards MC to a friendship to eventually shifting her obsession from her sister to MC itself leading to her pitting herself against the heroines including her very own sister as she refuses to give up MC this time she tries to instigate conflict a few times with Jung DaHee and Sirin but is promptly resolved with them coming out stronger most of times. Her Love Story development is a bit wacky as it involves strongarming MC/Kidnapping before eventually being settled down and tamed but her fire never goes out. While all this may sound negative outside few panels/12 chaps she is a really fun and happy character to be around a far cry from the usual deranged Yanderes that physically hurt other heroines or MC. Furthermore in a way the whole final arc was only possible due to her unique personality and feelings towards MC. She did not have any particular Character Arc unlike others. Yoo NaRi Key Moments Cooking Arc and the Series Final Arc. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/t6uag8t.png Kwon Miya Our Fourth Heroine and the last FMC introduced. Saying she is Complex would be an understatement with how convoluted her introduction and character arc were. Miya stands atop all the heroines and characters tying with one in having the most complex and dark character arcs. A year or so older than MC Miya is a professional Idol turned Actress who is an emerging face in the Industry surrounded by rumors and more. We are introduced to Miya in Yoo DaHees Acting Debut arc as the main antoganist which sets the tone of her character arc as well portraying her in an extremely negative light which is exponentially multiplied by MC mindset of supporting the current APC girls an Egoistical complex of easily solving the crisis and a bias against the character from original Webtoon where Miya was the most disliked heroine with an unfinished character arc. This leads to MC openly warring against Miya refusing to treat her as a heroine or save her leading to a MC + APC vs Miya standoff in the acting arc. Acting Debut arc is one of the biggest arcs in the series involving all 7 Heroines and even more side characters. The premise of Arc is assisting Yoo DaHee in her acting debut in a renowned directors adaptation of a hit novel where she competes against Miya for the protagonist role while other APC club members audition for different roles and Jung Ah is roped in as a Scriptwriter assistant an unforeseen event as she was being dragged into the world of Webtoon unlike before. Miya acts as a complete jerk in the chapters belittling MC and others true to her Character archetype of Opposite of Yoo DaHee. Since DaHee was a Nice Girl in the webtoon Miya is presented as a complete jerk stooping low with scandals and sabotages all of which cause MC to treat her as an enemy instead of a heroine to be saved. Thus begins the longest time loop in series fueled by tragedy. MC thinking of Miya as an enemy does his best to safeguard all the girls nipping in bid all future events and JungAh assisting from the sidelines but loops kept happening and the unexpected cause comes to light in the third loop . This serves as harsh wakeup call for MC who had grown complacent with solving previous cases of Heroines as he is completely lost on what is happening and thus begins Miya true character arc A personality opposite of Yoo DaHees real personality of brash and rude a part that was never covered in Webtoon and we unwind an extremely dark past involvement of Yakuza extortions dark side of entertainment industry and a high stakes mission undertook by all of APC members to give this arc and Miyas character arc a satisfactory conclusion. Miya grows from no way this is the heroine of the series to the best character in the series for me. She has an insane level of character development and love development. A precious cinnamon roll to be protected at all costs. The best of girls. Kwon Miya Key Moments Yoo DaHee Acting Debut Arc Vacation Shopping Arc Thus marks the end of our seven heroines but it doesnt end here as there are certain key side characters central tothe story and have major arcs. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/tyzst03.png Suna Byul MC exgirlfriend and cause of his trauma and the bad rumors surrounding him this storyline takes an equally dark undertone like Miya arc filled with selfloathing . Her character replaces the Original fifth and sixth heroines from the story who were supposed to be protagonists first love as she wasthe MCs first love and mostly revolves around giving a flashback of the past and the MC and Byul healing and moving on. Short but impactful and very dark. MC Sister and Mother Not much to say about them they lost all hope in MC and his sister detests him particularly due to the Byul incident and MC hiding the truth behind it. And now last but not least and the character whose backstory and arc came out of nowhere and hit the hardest tying with Actress Debut Arc/Miya arc in intensity action and conclusion. 220https://files.catbox.moe/thumbs/t3pp849.png Shin YongSu MCs best friend and an extreme chunnibiyo character sticking with MC and APC since day 1 used for the majority of the series as comedy slapstick. Yong Sus past is explored on the introduction of Bang Yerim a central side character introduced in Joo RaMis character arc I referred to earlier. Another central figure is Shin Sua his younger sister and Ill discuss all three together as its all interwoven. Starting with lighthearted Yerim as guardian of Rami is suspicious of MC and comes in to spy as a New Maths Teacher in school being a god gifted genius in academics and hacking who skipped years of school allowing her to be a teacher despite being close to Age in them. Yerim is shown to be a hidden otaku and bonds with Yong Su over the same who never hides it they hit off great with each other despite having opposite personalities and a cosplay contest sets the gears to Yong Sus hidden past revealing yet another dark undertone story and allowing us to see how he became who he is. While working on the cosplay contest costumes we are introduced to the existence of Song Sua Yong Sus younger sister who was into cosplay and soon we see her for the first time waking from a deep coma in a hospital. Sua suffers from terminal sleep disease which means she spends most of her life in a comatose state but believes that she will be healed one day. Then we see the backstory of the two siblings raised by rich but inhumanly distant parents who believed that their only duty to the offspring was to give them money as they needed and nothing else thus the children were raised by servants but Sua wanted her family together at celebration and gets into accident preparing for the same as a kid starting her and yong su misery as their parents did not even bother to visit her at hospital. She starts collapsing into sleep comas soon after and Yongsu turns chunnibyo keeping alive the memory of Suas favorite character to give her hope and happiness while plotting a revenge for the downfall of his parents. Back to the present Sua wakes up and the parents are in the country. She tries her best to get a family gettogether but to the parents their kids are of no interest only their current obsessions matter making Yong Su accelerate his plan and just kill the parents off. Stopped by Sua MC and Yerim Yong Su finally let go of living for revenge and aims to live happily for Sua instead. Yerim and Yong Su get one of the best if not the best love stories in the series with a perfectly satisfying conclusion before we have our series finale. Thus marks the end of Characters its long and probably boring but as I said earlier the webtoons strongest point was its characters and their arcs. Beyond this we have the finale of the series the question haunting MC for long? Who put him here and what do they want to do with him and this world and the answer is soon revealed as MC must battle the author himself to keep his place in this world and the love of APC members. We have the original protagonist inserted into the story taking the place of MC and his relationships as MC fights back to take it all in a satisfactory action and bonding conclusion. The fifth and sixth heroines meeting original protagonist at the end was a nice touch for me personally. The ending as stated earlier is a Polymary one where MC marries all 7 FMCs in a grand wedding how that happens read it for yourself. A really wellwritten series that I did not expect to love as much as I did.
