We are offered the same old adventures of mckun and his harem where he defeats bad people while mixing in fanservice and the absolutely idiotic behavior of all the characters between fights. Compared to the sixth episode of the first season there is a slight improvement in the level of idiocy but it is not enough. The creators of the anime dont seem to know what they want. They try to increase the seriousness and hopelessness or bring the viewer back to idiotic jokes. They force all the characters to act like schoolchildren who decide to dabble at recess and then become serious again during the next lesson.
Because of this ambiguity the show provides neither adult storytelling nor action nor good comedy.
All the jokes boil down to the girls teasing the guy who blushes and friendzones them. This has been going on for a season and a half.
To give the harem more meaning than just cringe jokes and fanservice the screenwriter made the girls very op. As a result the bunny girl turned from a stupid fool into a superpowered warrior with the ability to see the future. Bloodsucking loli continues to cast more and more powerful spells.
The authors are so confused by the character limits that they dont know what the characters are capable of. In one episode loli can cast a million electrodragons all day long in another she gets tired after casting a couple similar spells. SMchan is first a very strong ancient character and then a useless boob rattle. It is unclear why she fluctuates so much. Clearly the whole company is ready for any trials which are not real. All these pseudomysterious mazes are just an analog of an amusement park for children.
As for the reward for passing the labyrinth I understood that ancient magic is awarded to everyone who passes all you have to do is step into a special magic circle. However the number of keys needed to open the entrance to more advanced labyrinths is unclear as is how they are regenerated. I think the chocolate elf had a round key that activated a volcanic eruption. Then he got the same key which pointed the way to the next labyrinth and opened its door like an intercom. I cant figure it out and I dont really want to.
The protagonists development is moving further and further away from that of a cruel man who is ready to destroy everyone and everything for the sake of his goals. This means that everything slides into typical teenage morality: love peace and harmony and so on. The further the series goes on the more mckun bows down to anyones requests and desires especially if they are women. The bloodsucker alone is enough to make mckun bend.
Lolisensei with her mission to socialize the idiot continues her attempts to sit on all the chairs at once and she succeeds because its anime. Ultimately mckun talks nonsense about sins and lost humanity but still becomes a typical simp.
French kissing is shown several times in this title completely unexpectedly. I dont understand Japanese censorship at all. There seems to be no logic to it. In addition to kissing it was even shown a couple of times that the couple slept together or at least there were strong hints. All the studios are so afraid to show anything like that as if the world were going to end. But Im not depraved. They showed it what difference does it make? Because of the terrible narration and cringeworthy puns it was pointless inappropriate and out of place. Take those scenes out and nothing will change because they carry no meaning or emotional weight. Love root of mckun and loli have been planning for a long time so everything is logical albeit boring.
The second season had only one redeeming quality: the eleventh episode which was predictably dumped in the trash.
The 11th episode was the only ray of light in the second season which was expectedly trashed.
The necromancer enlightens viewers that all zombified people are already dead and cant be saved not a bad turn Ill tell you.
Suddenly Kaori appears and is immediately mauled. My eyes widened and I found myself enjoying it. I imagine the shows writers finding some courage and deciding to sacrifice someone to create an interesting situation.
Kaori is feeding. Theres an isekaijin who silently approaches to punish the murderers. I knew for sure that the writers would trash this scene and they did.
The buildup was quite good. Finally he walked forward with a slow gait unstoppable with rage literally stopping sword strokes with two fingers.
Come on show me how he asks the necromancer Whats 1000 minus 7? Show me how he gets even with the guy who threw him into the lower floors of the maze in the first episode. Suck it
The man reaches for the goggles girl threatens to kill her and then the original traitor jumps on him. He throws the man out of the Coliseum pleading to be let alone. Mckun has killed for less but here a man who betrayed everyone is given carte blanche to betray and kill. In the end the degenerate dies at the hands of monsters. The goggles girl by the authors will finds herself next to the chocolate elf on the dragon and they fly awayno one tries to stop them. The bespectacled one teleports to the dragon with the help of montage magic: in one frame shes lying on the ground in front of mckun in the next shes sitting on the dragon.
It would seem that youve nixed an incredibly cool scene. Its already lying in a dumpster next to the bums. Have mercy Not so. Mckun and his harem take the alreadydead Kaori and revive her. They dont just revive her they transfer her to another body and keep the old one in case she wants to come back. In Solo Leveling the scriptwriter prepared viewers for such twists by regurgitating nonsense about the second ascent. In this title however the author didnt even make the slightest effort. Conveniently the heroes closed the maze which gave them the opportunity to resurrect anyone including their feeded teammate. This has never happened before yet here it is again. Thats why I say all these mazes and the plot in general are an amusement park for juvenile retards.
So Kaori who was almost completely useless turned into a megapowerful angel. Hell nah Mckun has a harem and surpasses the gods because he can get and craft anything out of thin air. He can also bring people back from the other side of the world and transplant a persons soul into any other body using the back and forth and back again system whenever he wants.
One of the few interesting episodes this season got golden showered. Id like to say frustrating but its more like no surprise. At least its consistent. It would be surprising if the author came to his senses and created a normal serious series in which you could worry if not for all the characters then at least for the mckun.
The whole world revolves around Nagumo and all the bad events always happen on his path. The screenwriter didnt even try to make the world seem alive. Demon armies attack the city where Mr. Nagumo is or the city hes about to arrive in.
Its unclear why they made the thirteenth episode. Its useless uninteresting fan service filler that should have come before the heroes took the little girl to her mother. This episode showcases the worst of the show. You could show it as a trial run so people arent misled.
Im giving it a rating of 40 only for episode 11 or rather for the part of it that was interesting to watch.
The 3D monsters dont look as bad now but its still bad.
