Grim Reaper and Four Girlfriends was definitely a ride to read. This whole manga is a mess. The start to it is amazing and the ending undermines the entire story. The plot for this manga is super engaging and got me hooked instantly. Its about a dude who has to date a girl because of a grim reaper so he tries to get a girlfriend but then gets 4 of them. And now he has to try to keep dating all 4 of them at the same time somehow. The main focus of this manga is about how the MC keeps getting in situations where the girlfriends are about to find out about each other but the MC does some batshit insane maneuver to somehow avoid it. Its honestly super entertaining and I really liked the premise. The humor in this manga is pretty good and the romance is also pretty good although due to the lack of character development most of the girls feel meaningless and flat. Now for the characters. I liked the characters. So theres 5 girls in the manga. The grim reaper girl and the 4 girlfriends. Every one of the girlfriends has a quirk about them. So theres a yandere a sadist an idol girl with potiential issues with her mother and a very proactive girl. Theyre all unique with their own quirks and all interesting. Now.. the ending. Well it is pretty damn bad. The manga builds up an insane amount of plot and future character development and then ends it off basically completing absolutely none of it. It really is unfortunate because of how much I was enjoying reading it but it just got axed basically. The axe this time was especially egregious though because of how the manga built up literally 5 girls and didnt develop a single one while also completely ignoring the plot. The idol girl seemingly had a lot of lore that was being setup and it was just never spoken about again. I dont even think 50 chapters would be enough to completely finish the story this manga was setting up with its first 10 chapters. rant about the ending Even with the horrible ending I would still recommend this manga to some. The humor and entertaining situations the MC gets himself into is still worth the read in my opinion however for those looking for a more serious romance or a well executed plot this is definitely not for you.
