Strike Witches Season 2 where do I even begin. Right from the start I notice several flaws such as Yoshika stealing a striker unit of from a military base which would already land her in more than just hot water and whilst the Major being able to cut beams was cool and all it would have been more powerful to the plot to have her go down but oh well of course they arent going to remove a character from this anime because they seem to want to milk them for all their worth. Now a key note is at the end of Episode 2 only then was the Strike Witches reformed which means upon the time of Yoshika stealing the striker she was not even military personal making her a literal war criminal but of course for some reason this army never seems to punish anyone for anything. Episode 3 is where this goes from a wholesome ish war anime to something completely weird the scenes involving the brooms in unnecessary sexualisation but I mean their always in their panties so at this point I feel theres nothing that could surprise me. Lets move on to one of the more key plot points of Season 2 or at least I feel it was meant to be but then its no longer revisited afterwards and thats the Jet striker unit. Now this was predictable as I think almost all of us saw what would happen same with modern engines more powerful they are the more fuel the burn same applies to this Unit now despite how easily predictable this was the episode itself was alright however they never bothered revisiting the Jet Striker at all which I feel was a wasted opportunity but instead they opted for a less serious and weirder path later on but more on that in Episode 7. As wholesome as episode 6 is they dont even follow their own logic in regards to their strikers not being able to reach higher than 10000 that means they wouldnt function correctly even when boosted up there but this series loves avoiding the use of logic when it suits them and theres still a glaring inconsistency with their guns appearing then disappearing this could be solved if they were formed from magic but their not they are actual guns as shown previously throughout the show this I noticed partially in season 1 but well its more obvious in season 2 makes me think they stopped caring. Episode 7 is ridiculous as I mentioned above they opted for a less serious and weirder path and unfortunately this was it Im all for fan service but this episode was just weird constant nudity the Neuroi being killed by someones butt and so on so forth to the point where you start to wonder if the writer has a fetish for this stuff and it gets to the point where it just makes one feel incredibly uncomfortable if I wanted tons of nudity dont you think Id have chosen to watch a hentai. Episode 8 displays a perfect way to upgrade Miyafuji without drawing too much attention to her increased power until the end when she finally takes flight but at the same time Im sure we all saw this coming given shes the protagonist. Still as far as anime power creeps go this was pretty good as it was shown as a struggle rather than her magically being stronger right of the bat. Episode 9 starts wholesome and than degrades itself into a lame fanservice rather than a powerful plot point. I mean wasnt episode 7 enough for the lewd behaviour for one season especially given that leaves only 3 episodes to go to get a strong and powerful finish to the season. The only positive ill give is that the bridge was built in the end and did help the people but it wasnt through the witches at all. Episode 10 I get the symbolism but to shoot live rounds at each other is stupid and in reality would have gotten them both court martialled and banned from using a strike gear ever again but hey what do I know since apparently this army is brain dead and the witches get away with absolutely anything except in Season 1 but eh why am I not surprised. Episode 11 foreshadows what i can only anticipate to be the exact same plot of season 1 where the army uses Neuroi tech again and Im expecting it goes wrong again and as a result the strike witches no doubt have to face this issue again. The one thing I will commend this episode was that they revisited the fact that the Majors magic was already dwindling. Oh and shock horror I was right once again using Neuroi tech doesnt work and as a result the Yamato is rendered inoperable honestly the army in this is so incompetent its unreal at least they didnt completely reuse the finale of season 1. God this ending sucks Yoshika defeats the Neuroi using a technique shes never mastered somehow they are all able to take flight when they had no mana left this series cant even follow its own logic using the Major to restart the Yamato was a bit stupid and dont get me started on that final Neuroi why would it makes its weak spot so big even when it can form shields? it would make more sense to keep a smaller core and shield it making itself unkillable also forget what I said in Episode 11 cause they than forget that the Majors magic is dwindling which means the Neuroi couldnt have had that much power to work with but if we ignore than glaring inconsistency in reality the Neuroi should have won but of course they cant have a sad ending so plot armour wins the day.
