Story Souji Enishiro is a flamebaiter making really bad content and profiting off of those that hate him so he can fund the recovery of his sister. However an unfortunate situation takes place when people attempt to convince her that her sister was already dead. This scenario led him down a path that awoke a talent of a blue flame from his phone that allowed him to kill monsters created from dead accounts social media accounts of deceased people. As the story progresses Enishiro learns about the world of dead accounts and the people who help regulate it while he learns to master the rare power he unlocked. 800https://i0.wp.com/anitrendz.net/news/wpcontent/uploads/2025/10/DeadAccountPV2screenshot.png?resize=6962C392ssl=1 The Good The OP and ED of this show were very enjoyable. First off the visuals for both songs were great imo and something about it just felt modern and dynamic. The OP sounds a lot like something from Two Door Cinema Club and the riff gave off What You Know vibes for me which I really liked. The ED was catchy and I would always say Sumimasen and Nantsutte while it played. Focusing more towards the actual show I liked the unique traits of each character. Like how Kiyomi is parasocial and Naruhiko has a good taste in music Nirvana ftw they all were interesting to me. Their powers were also pretty interesting and I appreciated how they were based off of something unique with the characters. I really liked the character development of people like Souji and Kukuru as they fixed personality problems that they had from their first meetup. The story felt very much like an introduction to something that would be much bigger if a season 2 gets greenlit and I think it set itself up well for that. 800https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0821/2489/8619/files/DeadAccountep04web25122023976PProRes422HQST2ch00144417109png.png?v=1769786404 The Bad This show feels too close to Jujutsu Kaisen and Blue Exorcist for me. The concepts from both shows clearly inspired the story for Dead Account but it feels too inspired for me. Apart from the phone power and monsters instead of cursed techniques and talents theres not too much that separates itself from the other shows which can feel like watching the same show with different characters. That would be my only complaint for the show but I found it to be a somewhat major problem. 800https://thegeekiary.com/wpcontent/uploads/2026/02/deadaccount7edited.png The Downright Ugly There is nothing downright ugly with this anime. 800https://a.storyblok.com/f/178900/960x540/0fbcb83e11/deadaccount.jpg/m/filters:quality95formatwebp Is It Worth The Watch? As someone who loves both JJK and Blue Exorcist I found this show worth the watch. It does feel a bit too close to both shows but I still found it entertaining nonetheless. Its modernization with social media and phones powering their techniques was something I could appreciate and I liked the character development that was shown in this season. I do hope this show gets a season 2 because they need to branch out from the JJKBlue Exorcist copy they seem to be and become their own unique show. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this helped you with your decision on whether to watch this anime or not If you already have watched it I hope that you can agree with me with some of the points I made. If you enjoyed this review I would greatly appreciate a follow too
