Born in Cheongsong in 1954 he moved to Busan in 1962. In 1976 he studied under Kang SuCheolhttps://anilist.co/staff/382842 and eventually debuted in 1976 with Neoguri Hyeongnim Raccoon Brother. For two years he was the bass player for an unknown band at a nightclub. He studied martial arts manhwa under Lee JaeHak and Kim CheolHohttps://anilist.co/staff/375421/CheolHoKim and in 1986 started producing martial arts manhwa in earnest with the help of Hwang Jae . In 1989 he temporarily suspended his martial arts manhwa career and focused on ancient Western mythology but returned to martial arts in 1993.
