Kaoru Kurimoto was a prolific writer who wrote the over 100 volume epic Guin Saga and numerous other series under various pen names. She also appeared on quiz shows and wrote literary analysis on top of being a member of numerous organizations and associations.
She passed away at age 57 due to pancreatic cancer. Guin Saga continued after her passing.
