Uhm because Im old. Also Im watching like 10 25 TV / ONA anime series + some OVAs a year. So that really adds up after 25 years. Lot of childhood series arent completed I just watched a bunch of episodes. Im not adding most music videos and only a few short manga to keep the completed list simple and short. Also I add only the first seasons for most part and rarely sequels movies. Please do not recommend something to me I always got a lot of anime to watch and manga and novels also western ones to read. For Secret Santa: Please only recommend me entries from my paused or my plan to watchlist. Genres I Love High Fantasy Adventure Steampunk Romantasy Romance Childcare Slice of Life Drama Psychological Cosmic Supernatural Horror Dark Fantasy Aviation Military Historical Dystopia Utopia Science Fiction Mecha 165https://i.ur.com/ibOiMXC.png Never Watched Much Of / Not Fond Of Series Like ... One Piece Naruto Bleach Fairy Tail Hero Academia Demon Slayer Black Clover Fire Force ... lot of lengthy and popular battle shounen with a few exceptions. Never liked ecchis harems. Or most CGDCT isekai romcom series etc. Yet there are exceptions to these genres. To be honest I think 7080 of anime manga and light novels are quite bad but there are great ones out there as well. In theory I love horror and dark fantasy but often its just laughable edgy. So I rather like dark and creepy atmospheres and worlds. I cant stand too edgy characters and plots and cant take them serious already had my issues with Eren. Also I really like romances but Im quite picky as well. There are great female and queer characters in anime too but I cant stand it when they are just harem inventory or older teenage / adult characters who act like a young child. 230https://i.ur.com/VpIhNLY.jpeg What I DisLike In Characters In general I like various types of characters except bland slates edgelords co. Also Im not fond of strong independent women who are just acting like a bratty and rude teenager like a macho man or look down on other women. This is mostly an issue in some western life action and animated shows. For and foremost I like kind characters who feel real and manage to be kind and have depth without coming across as goodietwo shoes. Im so tired of shows where everyone is awful to another but Im also tired of a superficial portrayal of empathy and kindness. In general I like complex and fun characters with different sides to them and I like goodnatured people who fucked up in some way or another and get some interesting inner struggles to deal with. Also I like often powerful or influental characters who have to deal with the responsibility coming with their power and position they are in. Im really fond of especially intelligent women and nonbinary characters with strong passions and in general I like competent characters. Also its great to see characters who I can interpret as neurodivergent without them being the antisocial and robotic stereotype portrayed as pitiful or similar.
